The Suursaari lake nature route is an easy route that can be navigated by means of rowing or canoeing. The route that runs through the breathtaking vistas of Savonselkä and along the western shores of Varpassalo is also suited to families and those with less experience in rowing/canoeing.

The route features eight control points that provide information on local nature, fauna and history.

The route is particularly well suited to those interested in observing lake birds.
