The hundred-year-old public school is a versatile attraction in Kesälahti village. Sovintola is a house of culture, art, craft, cooperation and togetherness, filled with both history and modern living.
Sovintola boasts a handicrafts shop, second-hand bookshop and high-quality art exhibitions. The upper floor of the building features two charming B&B rooms: the chambers of Kerttu and Tyyne. The atmospheric wooden building is surrounded by a spectacular 100-year-old garden.
In summer 2021, Sovintola’s Kulttuurikammari will hold a joint exhibition by Kuutti Lavonen and Pentti Hakala, named Yksintein – ‘The same road’.
Come in for a visit! In Sovintola, you can enjoy art, rest your head in a 100-year-old house, treat yourself to the café’s delicacies and just spend some time relaxing.
Sininen Café is open during the summer season.
The boutiques feature a variety of products made by skilled local craftsmen and women. The offering includes a variety of textiles, knitted and woven garments and fabrics, ceramics and other handicrafts.
The Kirjakammari second-hand bookshop provides a wide range of affordable reading, and you can even sit down with a cup of coffee for some reading.
Accommodations are rented out for shorter stays in the summer. In winter, the artists can book the premises for residencies. Kerttu’s chamber provides comfortable accommodation for 1–3 people, and Tyyne’s chamber boasts large work and lounge areas.
